There are 27 countries with only one Yellow Jacket alum. Tsoloane Lehloba, MS CS 25, is the only alum representing Tech in his entire country of Lesotho (population 2.3M), perched in the Maloti Mountains in southern Africa. Looking to advance his career at the World Health Organization, Lehloba pursued his master’s in computer science (online) at Georgia Tech. Though he has never been to Atlanta, Lehloba hopes to visit one day to see his favorite campus in person.

Three Yellow Jacket alumni happened to be in the same operating room and worked together to remove a complex, cancerous tumor from a patient. Dr. T. “Clark” Howell, MD ISyE 14, MS HS 16, and Caroline Wu, MD, BME 19, are trainees in General and Orthopedic surgery, and Dr. Betty Tong, MD, ME 93, MS ME 95, is a Thoracic surgeon at Duke University Medical Center.

A father-daughter duo became Double Jackets together! Sherman Lofton Jr., Mgt 90, MBA 26, and Shaina Lofton, Arch 24, M Arch 26, both graduated this spring with their master's degrees! Sherman completed his MBA, while Shaina received hers in architecture. What a legacy!

With a degree in Mathematics, Joseph Boveri is ending his time at Georgia Tech but only for the summer! He will be back in the fall to earn his masters, also in Mathematics. One of his fondest memories is rushing the field after the 2024 upset against Miami and taking down the goalposts. Joseph was the Allocations Director and Funding Process Chair for the GT Student Foundation, as well as the executive director of Strategic Planning and New Student Onboarding Committee Lead for the Emerging Leaders Advisory Board. Heading to The Boeing Company as an Acoustics Analysis Engineer, Gretchen Hinger graduated this spring with an Aerospace Engineering degree. While at Tech, Gretchen was a Resident Assistant at North Avenue North, Georgia Tech National Residence Hall Honorary President, a member of the Georgia Tech Residence Hall Association and did undergrad research with Aerospace Systems Design Lab. Congratulations to ! Benjamin Zhao earned a BS degree in Neuroscience and is going to Amazon.com to be a software development engineer. One of his favorite Tech memories is storming the field after beating Clemson in Fall 2025. Benjamin was the Co-President of Student Neuroscience Association, Captain of Mock Trial, a meGeorgia Tech Student Ambassadorsassadors, and a videographer for GT Athletics Total Person Program.
