More snapshots from the Beacon Hill job with TV boxes in, some provisions for future wiring and cabinetry moving along.

Second week of December
Back at the Weymouth conference room, we completed the speaker installation and finished the PC setup. This construction services company has already gotten to enjoy a couple business meetings here. It is a dramatic upgrade compared to before with a low quality camera and TV speakers. Now they are ready to present to clients in a way that aligns with their own quality of services.

In Newton, we responded to a couple remote control issues. At the same time we spent some time enjoying and testing the recently completed theater. Way more time enjoying than testing honestly. For premium sound, GIK Acoustics provided us with panels and a professional design. Which included absorption panels up front and on the ceiling, and combination diffuser absorption panels around the room. Here's what the client and family gets to enjoy:

The Brookline smart lighting job moves forward with keypad controls. This is where we post photos around the home showing all wiring locations, which was buried in the walls so the keypads could be precisely positioned after trim is installed. This allows us to space them away from corners and casings identically throughout the house.

The photos are an immense help and exhibit our commitment to our craft and the finish result. For AVIT Boston custom is standard. We require everything to look equally intentional and effortless. This step delivers peace of mind and assurances to the client that we thrive to go above and beyond.

First week of December
The Beacon Hill wiring job starts, which involves audio video and data wiring.
Even with very difficult prehistoric construction, we're able to get everything back to the head end. Across ceilings, up walls and through floors. Plenty of beams and blind turns in the ceilings. We are proficient in both new construction AND renovations. Also adding Lutron lighting to automate all their lighting to be operated from universal controls, schedules and more.

In Brookline we begin preparations for blackout shades. This will be an intricate and crafty installation, which requires the pocket to be recessed into the window casing. That means coring out a channel above the window box, which will be covered with detailed millwork. This will deliver exceptional looks and operation.

✔ Complete blackout with no light gaps on the top, bottom or sides
✔ Hardware that disappears into the casing
✔ Responsive and nearly silent operation

Last week of November
At the top of the list is a Wi******er home needing consultation on his living room. Which they intend to turn into a media room. The husband lobbied for a projector/ screen combo, but unfortunately was overruled. This visit was about finding a solution that provides:

✔ Discreet looks
✔ Bright display during the day, deepest darks at night
✔ Sound system with great clarity and impact

In Weymouth we just about completed the business office transformation:

📺 2 85" screens mounted
🖥 Equipment rack installed
🎤 Wireless mics connected

The existing equipment rack was inherited from the previous business. It was something we were less than familiar with. But we approach things like this with confidence, not uncertainty. After successfully testing the sound and video, the only thing left is to install the speakers and some work with the cameras.

And in Newton we installed wifi throughout the home that the client brought over from the previous home. This was a Sunday install, because we're committed to service and results. You can see how the process unfolded, as we validated and cleaned up the wiring. Including the mess that the electrician left at the head end. Unfortunately he was not fully competent in this area, and out of 8 runs, there were 3 with issues:

❌ One short
❌ A couple breaks
✅One fault I was able to clear

That means the electrician failed on 25% of his low voltage work. When building a $4+ million dollar home, why entrust the electrician with something the professionals can manage?!

Third week of November
Wiring this Beacon Hill residence begins. Getting things through the walls and ceilings is a challenge but we're up for it. First, we consulted with the homeowner to see what his priorities and expectations are. How he intends on using the space and where furniture would end up. What to provision for in the future. And then we applied that to our own recipe. The result is connectivity that is flexible enough for any TV, desk, access point or gaming system that comes along. Without sacrificing looks

We also advanced the motorized shade design forward by mocking up the pocket installation. The pocket will recess into the top of the window casing, while the side channel will recess into the side casing. Resulting in a blackout shade installation that reveals NO light gaps because the shade is fully encased within the millwork from top to bottom. This will be a very impressive and truly custom design. Check back for more progress photos
