📞 Your phone rings. A stranger says there’s a virus on your computer!

They sound convincing. They know what they’re talking about. And then they say:

"Don’t worry. I can fix it for you.”

Would you know whether to trust them?

This is how a Tech Support Scam can start and you don’t have to be a business owner or a cybersecurity expert to become a target. It can happen to anyone.

🚩 Before you do anything:
• Don’t give an unexpected caller remote access to your computer.
• Don’t download software they tell you to install.
• Don’t share passwords, verification codes, or payment information.
• Hang up and contact the company or your IT provider using a number you know is legitimate.
• Most importantly, don’t let someone else’s urgency become your emergency!

Scammers are good at creating panic. They want you to react before you have time to think.

WANT FASTER WI-FI?
YOUR PC MAY BE CONNECTING TO THE WRONG BAND!

Your internet might be fast, but your Windows PC could be choosing 2.4 GHz instead of the faster 5 GHz band.

Try this:

1️⃣ Open Device Manager
2️⃣ Expand Network adapters
3️⃣ Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter → Properties
4️⃣ Click Advanced
5️⃣ Find Preferred Band
6️⃣ Select Prefer 5 GHz band
7️⃣ Click OK ✅

⚡ When you’re close enough to your router, 5 GHz can give you faster speeds and less interference. Keep in mind that 2.4 GHz usually has better range, so the best option depends on your setup.

Before you react, VERIFY.

🔐 Create a private family code word
📱 Hang up and call their known number directly
💸 Never send money based on an unexpected call alone

Did you know you can share your Wi-Fi without typing the password?

iPhone:

1. Connect your phone to Wi-Fi.
2. Have the other iPhone select the same Wi-Fi network.
3. Tap Share Password when it pops up.
Done!

Android:

1. Open Settings → Wi-Fi.
2. Tap your connected network.
3. Tap Share or QR Code.
4. Have the other phone scan the QR code.
Connected!
