The PMDP team has wrapped up another incredible mission at Kamokuokamohoaliʻi (Maro Reef)!
After 9 operational days, the team removed an impressive 48,680 pounds of marine debris, including a 1,400-pound “dozer” net discovered during the final hour of operations.
While the team fell just short of the 50,000-pound goal, the impact is anything but small. Years of hard work have helped clear the backlog of debris from the reef, allowing it to rest and rebuild while the team continues returning each year to prevent that backlog from returning.
Now, the team begins preparing for the next mission in September. Mahalo to everyone who made this mission possible!
