Apple's biggest software event of the year just happened — WWDC 2026 — and there's a lot to unpack.

The short version: Apple finally has a proper AI assistant.

After years of Siri being the butt of jokes compared to ChatGPT and Google Assistant, Apple unveiled Siri AI at this year's event. It's a full rebuild — not an update. The new Siri can have real conversations, understand what's on your screen, search the web, and generate text. It's powered by Google's Gemini model, which is an interesting choice from a company that usually keeps everything in-house.

Other highlights from the event:

✅iOS 27 makes your iPhone noticeably faster. Apps open 30% quicker. Photos show up in your library 70% faster. Works on iPhone 11 and newer.
✅macOS 27 is named 'Golden Gate.' Intel Mac owners: this is the end of the road. Only Macs with Apple's own chips (M1 and later) will get this update.
✅iPad, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro all received updates — most of them centered around Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features.
✅No new hardware. No foldable iPhone yet. 🙂

Public beta arrives in July if you want to try things early. Otherwise, the full update comes in fall 2026.

We've got a full, beginner-friendly breakdown on DemystifyByte.

🐢 Is your laptop running slow? Don't buy a new one yet.

A slow laptop is one of the most frustrating everyday tech problems, but in most cases, you can fix it yourself without spending a dime.

Here are 5 quick wins you can try TODAY:
✅ Disable startup programs (they're secretly slowing your boot time)
✅ Clear out temp files and old downloads
✅ Update your OS; performance bugs are fixed with every update
✅ Close unused browser tabs (yes, each one eats RAM)
✅ Restart your laptop more often than you think you need to

We wrote a full beginner-friendly guide that walks you through all 10 fixes step by step — for both Windows and Mac users.
No technical background needed. Just follow along.

APIs explained in 3 bullet points 📌
These three concepts are the foundation for understanding how most modern apps communicate; and they'll come up constantly once you start working in or around tech.

Save this for the next time someone mentions APIs in a meeting and you want to actually follow along 😄

Real talk: "API" gets thrown around constantly in tech conversations, but how many people actually know what it means?

We asked, you answered. Let's see where everyone's at 👇
✅ = I already knew
❌ = Just learning this

Either way, we've got the full plain-language breakdown of what APIs are, how they work, and why they matter for your tech journey, no coding background required.

You've used an API today. Probably multiple times. Here's what that means 👇

An API (Application Programming Interface) is basically how two apps talk to each other. The easiest way to picture it:

🍽️ The restaurant analogy:
You don't walk into the kitchen to get your food. A waiter takes your order, communicates it to the kitchen, and brings back what you asked for. The API is the waiter, the go-between that handles the exchange.

Real examples in your daily life:
➡️Weather app showing live conditions → weather API
➡️"Sign in with Google" button → Google's authentication API
➡️Paying with Stripe or PayPal → payment API
➡️Google Maps inside another app → Maps API

The apps you use every day don't build all of this from scratch. They plug into existing APIs and focus on the experience layer.

We broke this all down in plain language on DemystifyByte. What APIs are, how requests work, the main types (REST, GraphQL, SOAP, Webhooks), and why understanding APIs is becoming a must-have skill even for non-developers.
