The 2026 The Winston-Salem Foundation Community Gathering at the Benton Convention Center was an evening centered on Poetry, Place, and Possibility.

The night featured a powerful keynote from Ada Limón, 24th Poet Laureate of the United States, whose work continues to remind us of the role storytelling plays in connection, resilience, and care for community.

We also experienced a newly commissioned poem from our friend and collaborator Jacinta White, spent time engaging with an interactive creative station hosted by Sawtooth School for Visual Art, and explored a thoughtful book selection from our friends Bookmarks.

Grateful to be part of a gathering that brings together community leaders, creatives, and organizations in meaningful conversation about the places we call home.

Yesterday, 1,200 students graduated from Davidson-Davie Community College, earning a combined 1,750 credentials, including 680 associate degrees, 123 diplomas, 1,019 certificates, and 140 college transfer pathways. These credentials represent new careers, continued education, workforce advancement, and brighter futures across our community.

Alumni, families, faculty, and supporters gathered on the lawn in front of the Mendenhall Building to celebrate graduates from Arts and Sciences, Business and Technology, Health Sciences, Workforce and Community Engagement, and Career and College Readiness programs.

The ceremonies recognized the hard work, perseverance, and dedication that brought students to this moment as they prepare to begin their next chapters.

“You might be crossing this stage to a new path and new future, but just remember that you will always have a home here, and you'll always be part of the Davidson-Davie family,” said Jenny Varner, President of Davidson-Davie Community College.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 and welcome to the Davidson-Davie alumni family! 🎓

A long-time and beloved client of M Creative, we were honored to design and develop the new website for ABC of NC, a nonprofit in our community dedicated to supporting children with autism and their families through education, therapy, and advocacy.

The new site brings clarity to their programs, highlights their story, and creates a more accessible digital experience for families and the community.

Take a look at the new site and explore the work ABC of NC is doing for children and families across the state at https://www.abcofnc.org.

We're always excited to hear about the impactful and creative work our clients do making a difference in the communities they serve.

Davidson-Davie Community College’s healthcare apprenticeship model was recently highlighted during Governor Josh Stein’s visit for National Apprenticeship Week.

Their "earn while you learn" approach blends classroom instruction with hands-on training in real healthcare settings. Students gain practical skills, earn income, and build direct pathways into in-demand healthcare careers.

The program continues to strengthen North Carolina’s healthcare workforce while creating clear career pathways for students across the region—a win for everyone involved.

Know a creative high schooler who wants to make a difference?

Leadership by Design (LbD) is a weeklong summer program where students dive into design, problem-solving, and leadership, all while building real-world skills, engaging with the local community, and having fun.

As long-time supporters of Community Design Studio, we believe programs like Leadership by Design are creating opportunities for the next generation to lead, create, and make an impact in their own communities. If you know a student who’s curious, creative, and ready to think differently, this is a space for them to grow.

M Creative had the opportunity to support the design and implementation of The Early Childhood Blueprint, an impactful convening in Forsyth County focused on the future of early childhood education and care.

Hosted by The Pre-K Priority, Family, Friend & Neighbor Child Care Alliance, Child Care Resource Center - NC, and Winston-Salem State University's Birth to Kindergarten Department, the event brought together leaders, educators, and advocates who understand that strong communities begin with strong investments in our youngest learners.

Throughout the day, conversations centered around early intervention, expanding access to high-quality Pre-K, and supporting Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) child care, the often unseen backbone of our workforce. The message was clear: the future of our economy and communities is directly tied to how we support children and families early on.

Last Friday, M Creative had the opportunity to attend the 10th Annual Color Me Asheville by Goodwill, and we’re still thinking about it!

This year’s show brought together local design teams who transformed repurposed materials into bold, runway-ready collections featuring a decade and color as a nod to Goodwill Industries of Northwest NC's 100 years of service. Every look was a reminder that creativity doesn’t require new resources, only vision, intention, and community.

Color Me Asheville highlighted the power of second chances through sustainable design, local artistry, and a mission-driven purpose—while also celebrating the resilience and vibrancy of Asheville post-Hurricane Helene and the people who continue to shape it. We’re proud to have experienced a night where creativity met impact, with proceeds supporting Bounty & Soul and their work to expand access to fresh food and wellness resources across Western North Carolina.

What a great day of connection and community.

M Creative was honored to attend and support the REACH Women's Network Conference in Winston-Salem alongside our community partner, Ashley Milam of Hospice of Davidson County. This year’s theme, Bold Thinking in Times of Change, brought together leaders from across sectors to explore how innovative thinking, collaboration, and resilience can shape stronger leadership in uncertain times.

The conference featured inspiring keynote speakers and engaging breakout sessions designed to energize leadership, strengthen communication skills, and prepare professionals for the evolving future of work.

We’re especially proud of M Creative Partner Iris Cole, a founder and Co-President of REACH, who moderated the Panel Navigating and Participating in Technology in the Workplace, helping lead thoughtful programming that creates space for meaningful conversation and professional growth.
