The construction sector isn’t lacking effort when it comes to safety. Over the past decade, it’s adapted to stricter regulation, introduced new systems, and placed greater emphasis on compliance, but the expected improvement in outcomes hasn’t followed at the same pace.

Construction continues to record the highest number of fatalities of any UK industry, sitting well above other high-risk sectors:
• Construction: 35 fatalities
• Agriculture, forestry and fishing: 23 fatalities
• Transportation and storage: 15 fatalities
