As seen on the Road to SpiceWorld Halloween special, Arts & Crafts by Rekha shared some spooky oral folklore from India.

Growing up in Kerala, blackouts meant huddling around grandma’s emergency lamp to hear centuries-old tales from Aithihyamala. None stayed with me quite like the legend of the Yakshi—the spirit waiting under the Devil’s Tree for lone travelers walking home in the dark.

No shadow on the ground. Bare feet floating inches above the dirt. Razor-sharp fangs hidden behind a sweet smile. 🌕🥀
